Let me take you on a little journey through time: Four years ago I left my job as a teacher and followed the call of my heart. My heart called in the rhythm of nature and so I found myself at the end of the world in the mountains of the Swiss Apls, in the middle of nature on the land of my ancestors.
Over the years I have spent many, many hours of my life in the forest and by the stream. What was initially a way of satisfying an inner longing for nature became a deep connection with "my" places and all the beings that can be felt there. Nature became my teacher and I willingly entered into a lifelong apprenticeship with it. Four years ago I could not even begin to imagine what would await me in the forest and that I would actually find answers to questions that I had been carrying within me for a long time. Because the most impressive thing I have learned is:
Nature is a mirror of myself.
I often walk through the forest with this guiding principle in mind. I let myself be guided intuitively, pursue a question and listen and feel what the trees, the wind, the water are whispering to me. Often it is words or images and sometimes even songs. It's about switching off the head for a bit and listening to my inner voice. I feel carried and supported by nature because I have learned that it contains everything I need to know. And let me tell you: It's like coming home!
Find the way back to your own true nature
Through my apprenticeship with nature and many human and non-human teachers, the knowledge of indigenous peoples, which is passed on by medicine women and men, travelers, writers, and my own experiences, be it on the yoga mat, in the forest or bathing in the river, I have found my own nature practice. A colorful mix of the philosophy of yoga, mindfulness practices, meditation, shamanism peppered with the rhythms of nature, my teaching and artistic background and countless wise messages from books. I walk through the forest and connect with this incredible, almost magical, network of information. But above all, I connect with myself, because I am also nature. Just like you and all of us. I have learned to open my senses, my heart and my mind and to trust my gut feeling. And connecting with nature like that is simply wonderful. Because I get answers to my questions and can gain clarity. Because I feel like I am part of something bigger. Because I feel my own true nature, which we all still have buried somewhere deep within us.
I call this practice "mirror walk", based on the shamanic "threshold walk". I assume that everything I perceive on the outside is a reflection of my inner world. So every flower, every butterfly, every stone that I come across has something to do with me.
In concrete terms: At the beginning of my stay in nature, I connect with a question that I currently have in my life and then walk mindfully through the forest with it. With open senses, an open heart and mind, I simply observe where I am drawn, what I notice, what thoughts come. And I practically always find answers in these simple symbols.
Yes, but...
You may now say:
"Yes, but Silvana, these thoughts that you hear are your thoughts. You surely don't believe that a tree will give you the answer."
To that I would answer that you are absolutely right with the first part of your statement. They are my thoughts. But because I know that there is no separation between me and nature, or this tree, the thoughts are also the thoughts of the tree, because I am nature.
My answer to the second part of your statement would be: Yes, I believe that a tree can answer me, because I have decided to believe in the magic of nature and life, in which nature is animated. I am also convinced that there is still a lot we don't know. There are more and more studies that deal with trees, and as Peter Wohlleben describes so beautifully in his books, trees are very communicative and caring. (They are connected to each other through their roots and thus support each other. They communicate through terpenes, messenger substances that they emit through the air. And the mother trees feed their children through their roots.)
I want to support you!
And now I'm taking the next step: I want to pass on to you everything I've learned over the years. I want to accompany you on your way back to your own true nature. I want to support you in your issues and processes with the help of all the tools in my toolbox: forest bathing, mindfulness, meditation, reflection, yoga and the mirror walk practice. My training as a teacher and actress, music and dance may also influence my work. And my sensitivity, which I long viewed as a weakness but now describe as my superpower.
In a so-called nature guidance session, I accompany and support you with your own questions. I guide you through nature and introduce you even more closely and individually to the mirror walk. And because I know that you probably don't live near me, I have found a way that allows us to connect with each other online. This means that all conversations take place online and the mirror walk takes place at a location of your choice. You do this alone, while I do it at the same time in my place with your question. In this way we are energetically connected and can then exchange our experiences and create clarity. I support you with my knowledge and experience in interpreting what you have experienced and accompany you in your process. Because I want to help you find your way back to your true nature.
